My Project

At our school, 70% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. The majority of our students are Native Hawaiians/Pacific Islanders who come from communities that are considered in low socioeconomic status. These communities are considered some of the toughest communities on the island of Oahu. I feel that our students are mentally tough; they come to school eager to learn. They are a little rough around the edges, but once you show them that as a teacher you are there for them, they will do anything for you.

When we use color in a systematic way it can help students retain information better than just using black and white.

For this project, we are requesting an Epson EcoTank color printer and ink. There are times when I need to request to have certain materials printed in color, but it would take a few weeks to get it completed. By having a color printer that is easily accessible for my students, it will be helpful when I need to create engaging learning resources at any given time. I will also be able to create visual aids, worksheets, and activities. This color printer will also make learning fun because color is more visually appealing than the typically black and white copies.
