Learning in Color!
My students need a color printer/copier/scanner in our classroom to enhance visual learning.
One of my favorite books for kindergartners is The Way I Feel by Janan Cain. The kids in this book explain their emotions through color and image. Kids love color. They love pictures that are vibrant and fun. I want to continue to bring more color into their worlds. Help me!
I teach a classroom filled with 25 unique little kindergartners.
My students range in ability level, interest level, and race. I have General Education students, English Language Learners, and Special Education students. But one thing that ties us all together is our love of books, desire for fun through learning games, and willingness to try. There is a high level of poverty in my school. Many of my students are on free or reduced lunches. Many of my students lack the background knowledge they need to be successful readers and writers. My job as their teacher is to build this knowledge, spark their interest in learning and foster their growth in their academics.
My current black and white printer in my classroom is on the fritz. For the past two years it has been producing copies that are more black than white. It has a serious issue. Being that it is over 10 years old and there is "NO Money" to fix it, I would like to replace it. I use my home computer and printer most often to print book covers and learning games in COLOR. Wow, does this get expensive. I keep doing it because the kids love when we make class books and have new games to play, graphs to read and charts to complete.
By having a color printer/copier/scanner at school it will allow me the ability to print items quickly. No longer will I have to drag things home to use on my printer, costing me time and money.
Your donations will allow me to continue to bring color into my student's world.
Having a new color printer will help me to quickly and conveniently create materials for our classroom. Please consider donating to this super project. Let's add some color to the lives of my students this year and for those in years to come! Thank you!
