My Students
Our Title I school has a unique and diverse student body that is over 85% free and reduced price lunch. Our students face obstacles each day. In the face of adversity, there is a joy in learning. School is their safe haven where they are able to explore, expand their knowledge, and grow as students. At the end of the day, I hope my students follow my three simple rules: 1. Work hard. 2. Be nice. 3. Make strong choices. These rules will take them far in life.
My Project
BES recently entered the #MakeitRealContest sponsored by Tinkercad and Autodesk to help our school win a mobile Makerspace. Our school was awarded an honorable mention and won ten new Chromebooks for our school!
We have dreams of creating a Makerspace in our school and the next component we need is a 3d printer!
Our students need exposure to new technology and experiences. We have creative students who need new outlets to share their creativity. Our students have the potential of becoming artists, inventors, designers and problem solvers. Students will have an opportunity to create and design on their Chromebooks and watch their ideas become reality with a new 3d printer.
Our students need these opportunities so they may grow as lifelong learners. Our third, fourth, and fifth-grade students need these opportunities so they can pursue new areas of learning as they move to middle school, junior high, and high school.
