This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Currently, at our school, we have seen an increase in the number of students being Identified with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and other developmental disabilities. We have put together a sensory room and would like to add a tent and other sensory items.

The sensory room gives our students a place to self-regulate and calm down.

Having a sensory room helps teach children with autism and other behavioral challenges to regulate their bodies in a way that allows them to achieve success in the classroom and helps them develop their social skills.
