Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach ELL students who have been learning English for less than two years. It is difficult to motivate high school students, but anytime I have manipulatives, they immediately become engaged. I can use these manipulatives to create stations to foster an engaging environment.

English Language Learners, especially missed experiences acquiring their 2nd language of English during COVID.

These materials will help create an engaging classroom where they can learn the foundations of reading as well as continue to be engaged in their primary language. It is always challenging to find literacy manipulatives that high schoolers are willing to use and these will be perfect.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
