As a teacher in a low income and high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges. As a math teacher, students come to me hating math and afraid to try thinking that they will just fail again. It is my goal as a teacher to change their attitude toward math and help them succeed not only in my classroom but also in life outside of school.
In today's society, more kids have attention problems and need outside help in focusing their brain.
It is my goal to create an atmosphere that is conducive to all types of learning styles and help those kids with focus problems develop skills that they may use in life after school.
My Project
Flexible seating options allow students to learn in an environment that is most helpful to them. During independent work times, my students are able to pick a location in the classroom. Currently, my students only have desks to work at - which are not all that comfortable! Making sure students are comfortable when learning math is a vital component to motivating them to do their best.
The products that I have chosen will help my students by giving them additional seating options; thus, helping them learn in their own way.
The stability balls will help students that have attention issues focus their energy in a positive manner. The lamps and the lap desks will provide an option for those students who choose to work on the floor. Materials will be stored in the 4-Cube organizer.
