My Project

My 5th grade students are curious, creative thinkers who thrive when learning is hands-on and meaningful. Many of them learn best through exploration, collaboration, and real-world problem solving, yet they often lack access to engaging STEM materials that bring science concepts to life.

This project will provide students with hands-on STEM activities that encourage cooperative learning, critical thinking, and innovation.

Through structured STEM challenges, students will work in small groups to design, build, test, and improve their ideas—just like real scientists and engineers. With these materials, students will explore real-world concepts such as engineering design, force and motion, energy, environmental science, and problem solving. Activities will include building structures, creating simple machines, exploring circuits, and designing solutions to real-world challenges. These experiences will allow students to connect classroom learning to the world around them.

Collaboration is at the heart of this project. Students will work in cooperative groups where they will share ideas, communicate effectively, and learn from one another. These opportunities will not only strengthen their understanding of science concepts but also build essential life skills such as teamwork, perseverance, and creativity. By engaging in STEM activities, students will gain confidence in their ability to think critically and solve problems. They will begin to see themselves as scientists, engineers, and innovators capable of making an impact in their communities.

This project will transform our classroom into an interactive STEM learning environment where students learn by doing, exploring, and discovering. With your support, my students will have the opportunity to experience science in a meaningful, exciting, and memorable way.
