Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My kindergarten students are some of the most enthusiastic learners I know. As students in a Title I migrant school, they bring resilience, curiosity, and determination to the classroom every day. They love hands-on learning experiences and are eager to explore new skills through play, movement, and meaningful activities. What makes them special is their excitement for learning and their willingness to persevere, even when tasks are challenging.

This project will provide engaging literacy activities and learning materials that bring our reading units to life.

The resources will be used in small groups, literacy centers, and independent practice to help students develop foundational reading skills such as letter recognition, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, comprehension, and early writing. By giving students interactive ways to practice these skills, the activities will make learning more engaging, memorable, and accessible for all learners.

My goal is to help every student build a strong foundation in reading while fostering a lifelong love of books and learning. These materials will allow students to actively participate in lessons, practice essential skills in meaningful ways, and gain confidence as readers. With your support, my students will have the tools they need to grow, succeed, and discover the joy of reading.
