Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are an awesome group of energetic kids who want to learn!
My fantastic second graders are from a low-income community, where over 80% of students receive free or reduced-rate lunch.
Almost 70% of them speak a language at home that is not English. My students are engaged and want to learn about everything. Our students were just notified today that they will not be returning this school year. I need to get them resources to work at home successfully.
My Project
I have a wonderful class of excited 2nd graders. We were looking forward to so many more days together, and that has been cut short because of the coronavirus. My students don't have at-home libraries, crayons, and notebooks like so many other students do. I want to set them up for a successful "distance learning" experience.
Please help me get important supplies into my students' hands.
They need these materials. I would deliver them to all the apartment buildings that my students live in. It is so important that they read daily with books at their level and are able to write their thoughts down.
