Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Sitting on bottoms is overrated. Kids learn from doing, not just watching and listening! My students are very active and it is hard for them to sit still and just listen to lessons. When lessons are delivered through games, fun activities and fun stories, they love it and learn much, much more!

I have thirteen girls and eleven boys, who are all precious and beautiful with the potential to excel in academics, graduate from college and have very successful careers!

I am the teacher who needs to give them a strong foundation in math, science, PE, visual arts, music, social studies, reading and writing to make sure their career dreams come true.

My Project

My students need the Learning Alive Suite in order to help them learn beginning math and alphabet skills. Learning alive Plus is a full suite of software learning kits including Letters alive Plus, Math alive, and three Interactive Stories designed to help early learners become proficient in reading and math. I will have the flexibility of using this program to teach to my whole group, small groups, or individual students.

Learning Alive is a kindergarten cross-curricular 3D augmented reality program that appeals to a variety of learning styles, including visual, auditory and tactile, by incorporating science, social studies, geography and more into reading and math.

Technology is used to bring 3D into the classroom. The letter H becomes a horse which can run across the screen. Can you imagine how wonderful it would be for a child to see the letter H turn into a horse right in front of their face, and gallop across their white board in their classroom? Many of my students learn best through visual and auditory skills. These materials will allow them to do so in a new and wonderful way!
