My Project

Every year, I engage my third graders with a business project. They learn how to earn (fake) money by selling products within our classroom in exchange for their classroom cash. In the end they will find out who earned the most classroom cash and who's business was the most successful. I would love to have a sublimation printer and sublimation blanks (i.e. keychains, coasters, air fresheners) so they could design, create, and sell products to each other and learn how to run a business.

I want to enable my students to learn about business creation and sales through the production and selling of customized items.

By engaging students in the process of creating and selling personalized items, they will instill an entrepreneurial mindset from an early age.

Through hands-on experience, students will learn about the fundamentals of business, including product development, marketing, and customer service. Working with sublimation technology will encourage students to unleash their creativity and explore innovative ways to design and customize products. They will have the opportunity to express themselves artistically and develop their problem-solving skills as they tackle design challenges. Through the creation and fictitious sale of customized items, students will gain practical experience in managing finances, budgeting, and pricing strategies. They will learn about the value of money, profit margins, and the importance of making informed financial decisions.

Empowering students with entrepreneurship skills at a young age will not only prepare them for future success in the workforce but also foster a sense of confidence and self-efficacy. Your support for this project will provide our third-grade students with an invaluable learning opportunity that will inspire and empower them to become innovative and enterprising individuals.

Mrs. Yee will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by August 10.
