We introduced it during the second week of school, and it is still a preferred activity that so many students want to get to more than once during the week. They are excited to discover new manipulatives that will work with the light table, and love trying out the different features and settings.\r\n\r\nWe have a student that just moved to our neighborhood, and Japanese is her home language. After working with the light table, she and her mother created flashcards of colors and shapes that are used at the light table center. As a teacher, I was thrilled at the organic home-school connection, and even more happy when they brought it to share with classmates. Now we get to learn and practice words in Japanese too!\r\n\r\nThank you for providing us the opportunity to offer open ended play in our classroom. It is wonderful to see students engage in different ways. We hear the rich language that is being exchanged as students are exploring.
