My Students

Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much. -Helen Keller I strive to foster a collaborative working environment for my students and writing is an area where kids can learn so much from each other and from working together.

My students are a diverse, creative group of 6 and 7 year olds who attend a public school in Wisconsin.

My students have a wide variety of strengths and weaknesses. I teach students from diverse backgrounds and experiences but every student has something to offer, which we all can learn from.

My Project

Writing is hard work, especially for the youngest of learners! Having a writing center as designated space for writing will help get my students excited for writing and motivate my students to be the best authors they can be. Every student has a writing strength that we can all learn from and celebrate. The document camera will help students be able to display their work for the rest of the class to vividly see. Students will be able to share their work and teach others about their writing process. It will enable all students to learn from their peers work and will also be used to celebrate our writing.

Motivation is the key to success and practice makes perfect!

Getting my students excited about writing will empower them to write more and more. The more they write, the better writers they will become. By having students share their stories with others, everyone will benefit. Students will learn by looking at and listening to each Other's writing. Having a purpose and an audience for writing will help students have an authentic purpose for their stories.
