Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Technology is amazing! Shouldn't students be able to learn and review basic concepts through the use of technology? Technology is all around us and students are learning by using it.
My students are very diverse.
My class is a Primary Special Day Class. The students all vary in their disabilities, from Autism to a Learning Disability to Speech and Language Impairment. They all are on different levels and learn at different rates. They all share something in common, they are willing and ready to learn.
My Project
My students need Leapsters and three Learning Games to use as a center and during structured free time. These Leapsters will allow the reinforcement of basic concepts through the use of educational video games. Students will be able to work at their own pace, at their own level and have fun doing so. They will be learning without even realizing it. These Leapsters will be used as an incentive and will help encourage more positive behaviors from my students. And, they will work for many years for future students.
Students will be able to use these Leapsters as a center during class time and also as a reward for being good and completing their work throughout the day.
My students thrive on earning a daily reward and these Leapsters will really motivate them to exhibit ideal behaviors in the classroom.
