Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a "green" school, we try to use recyclables as much as possible. We have 4 Leap Pads and go through batteries like crazy. We'd like to get rechargeable batteries along with the chargers to help us stay green!

My 2nd graders are the best!

I taught them in 1st grade and I'm looping with them this year. I couldn't be happier than to spend another year with my kiddos. We are a Title 1 school with the majority of our students being English Language Learners. My class is an inclusion class which services ELL, Special Needs and General Education students.

My Project

Many of my students have difficulty with both the English language as well as visual processing deficits. Leap Pads are an incredible way for my kiddos to see written words while listening to them being read. They also have great games that go along with each of the stories. These are great tools for reinforcement centers.

Having access to Leap Pads really helps my students with English, processing and reading skills.

They have more independence using these as they have the ability to choose their own stories and the can work at their own speed. Using regular batteries has become a big expense for me (since they seem to run out quickly)and goes against our green philosophy. Please help!
