Leap Into Learning

My students need LeapFrog interactive technology to aid in our learning in our classroom during our Literacy Station time!

My Students

Times are changing and our classroom needs help incorporating some age appropriate technology to aid our learning environment! These LeapPad tablets will not only bring technology into my room, but also incorporate some great strategic learning games into our curriculum!

I teach in a rural school in Indiana.

My students enter my kindergarten room at all academic levels. Some have had preschool, others have never held a pencil. Their minds are like little sponges ready to soak up any knowledge I give them. I LOVE that part of my job! My Literacy Center time allows me to pull small groups of students over to teach them specific strategies that they need. The more engaged the rest of my students are at their specific center for the day, the easier it is for me to concentrate on my small groups who are learning critical elements to aid them in their reading. That is where these LeapPads come into play. My students can be engaged in educational games and learning!

My Project

I am asking for some handheld LeapFrog LeapPads which are similar to iPads, but very academic orientated toward younger children! I am also requesting headphones, protective gel cases, and wall chargers for each one. These LeapPads will not only give my students a very engaging activity to do while I am pulling my small reading groups the students will be learning and having fun at the same time. Then just having technology in my room that is appropriate for my kindergarten students is a bonus! We have a beautiful school, but we lack in some of the most up to date technology at this time due to all the school funding cuts. These LeapPads have several different games that you can play to help with reading, letter recognition, handwriting, and problem solving skills. They even have stories that ask comprehension questions and other literacy questions. They are such a wonderful learning tool and what kid doesn't want to get their hands on that type of technology in this day and age?

Please help bring technology and learning together in my kindergarten classroom!

My students will use these everyday and it will bring so much enjoyment to my classroom! We all want our children to have fun while learning and I can't think of a better addition to our classroom to help accomplish this!
