Leaders Moving Towards Success

My students need materials to help them learn while they move in the classroom. America is in an obesity epidemic, and it presents a great danger to our youth. These materials are geared towards kinesthetic learning. WE need excretes peddlers, bands and more.

My Students

I have an awesome group of students that come from various backgrounds and circumstances. Despite their differences, it is what they share that makes our school family what it is today.

My second graders are little leaders working as a team for a common goal- to succeed at life!

My students are energetic and eager to learn each day. They have a passion for helping others and strive to become better citizens. Our school opened last year and our students got to work right away! They make the most of each day by being positive and working hard!

My Project

Research supports the link of movement to improve cognition. I firmly believe exercise and fitness encourages healthy living. Exercise grows brain cells.

I am asking for stay balls for my students to help with posture and core.

The bicycle pedals will increase movement while students are completing work. The spooner board and balance board are for my students who prefer to stand while working. This will also provide them with opportunities to move while learning. I am also asking for bands to do whole group movement with sight words, fast facts and brain breaks. The book will serve as a resource for me to make implementation the best it can be.

This project will help my students beat the statistics while engaging in their learning.

It will also add multiple options for students to move in the classroom. This project will improve student learning and health. Students crave movement to understand concepts and I can provide multiple opportunities with the requested materials. I plan to set up kinesthetic stations for students to use while they are completing work independently or working collaboratively.

My goal for every student is for them to become a healthy and enthusiastic leader. I want them to gain the skills needed to work in the 21st century. This project will enhance all learning in the classroom and hopefully encourage exercise and fitness in their lives after second grade.
