LAUSD Calming Area

Help me give my students a camling corner. We have been dealing with the pandemic after-effects. My students are still in need of having a safe space where to release their stress. We can divide them in teams!

My Project

We need to normalize receiving counseling support. My calming corner may be used by small groups of kids, or we can provide individual support. Parents in the SELA area tend to have two jobs, or to work more than 8 hours. As a result, many times they state they don't have time to take the students to counseling. In addition, counseling services usually come with a price tag.

Yes!

Students will be empowered and learn how to cope with anxiety and stress on their own. We will also help them to increase their communication skills.

All these materials will be used by students and the best part is that they can learn how to use them at home too.

Strategies and calming exercises will help students to focus!
