Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Freshman year is one of the most important transitions in a student's educational journey. My Freshman Success class is designed to help students build the confidence, knowledge, and practical skills they need to succeed in high school and prepare for life beyond graduation. Throughout the year, students will explore career pathways, set personal and academic goals, strengthen workplace readiness skills, and develop habits that support lifelong success.

Every student deserves access to books that help them succeed not only in school, but in life.

I want to create a classroom library filled with engaging books that students can choose to read throughout the year. This collection includes resources on life skills, financial literacy, career exploration, communication, leadership, emotional wellness, self-confidence, and personal growth. Whether a student wants to learn how to manage money, discover career possibilities, improve communication skills, or build resilience, these books will provide valuable guidance and inspiration.

These books are not required reading—they are opportunities for students to explore topics that matter to them. Students will be encouraged to browse the bookshelf during independent reading time, after completing class activities, or whenever they want to learn more about a topic in greater depth. My goal is to foster curiosity, encourage independent learning, and provide resources that students can return to throughout the school year and beyond.

Your generosity will help create a classroom library that empowers students to become confident learners, thoughtful decision-makers, and future-ready young adults. Every book on these shelves has the potential to inspire a student, answer an important question, build confidence, or provide guidance at just the right moment.
