Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I'm a first-grade Dual Language teacher who works with English Language Learners and Native English Speakers. Majority of my students below to low income family group. The pandemic has affected us in many ways including the way learning takes place. The shift from classroom to online learning has its on merits and challenges. My students have been doing their best to complete their work on Google Classroom. I try to find useful resources online and record lessons for student's to be able to get maximum benefits out of online classrooms.
Most of my students have great potential skills and if properly motivated and supported, my students can enhance their knowledge and brighten their future.
My Project
Due to the pandemic that has affected many across the world, remote learning was put into place without much preparation. Teachers, students and all other school officials left home for a weekend not knowing that the following Monday we would all start remote learning which was to continue for the rest of the school year. The virus came from nowhere and drastically affected the way schools operate. Even though, we struggled at the beginning, we adapted to the new changes and improvised the way we teach. We developed digital classrooms, and established ways to keep in touch with the kids and parents.
With high probability of continued online learning, I would like to be better equipped with an apple iPad and Apple Pencil for the upcoming school year.
With the latest technology, I will be able to create more engaging and exciting lessons. By doing a lot of online searches, I was able to find many new softwares and programs which will improve the effectiveness of online classrooms. One big challenge I face is the old computer system I have. Since it is has an obsolete operating system, I'm not able to download many good programs. Please support me so that I could provide the best online remote learning experience to my classroom kids.
