This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students are energetic, active learners. They attend a Title I school and their parents often struggle to buy supplies, uniforms, and provide lunch. The parents do try their best to send their children to school every day, so they can get a proper education, meals, and exercise and play in a safe environment.
The students try hard at everything they do, from in the classroom to on the playground, because they like school and feel safe at school.
The teachers try equally as hard because we know they are our future and need dedicated educators who care about their success and well-being.
My Project
With the current school year on pause for a the foreseeable future due to COVID-19, my students have no time to waste in September when it comes to learning. While we currently implementing remote learning, it is not the same as learning in the classroom. I plan to start September off as fun, loving, engaging, and rigorous.
While I can implement a fun, loving, and nurturing classroom I need help creating an engaging and rigorous classroom.
The magnetic 4 letter word builder will help the student progress from spelling 3 letter words to 4 letter words. The two different sight word centers will help improve their automaticity of sight words. The stamp center will be a fun way to practice digraph and blends and vowel rules when it comes to spelling. While it is hard to prepare for the immediate future in terms of education, I can plan for September to make sure no time is wasted.
