My super students are on the path to achieving great things, but I need a little help to support them. My students have big dreams and want to succeed. Our mission is to provide each student with a diverse education in a safe, supportive environment that promotes self-discipline, motivation and excellence in learning through the four core principles of Knowledge, Service, Leadership, and Character.
Approximately 75% of the students at our school receive free or reduced-price lunch through the Title 1 federal funding.
Within that 75%, we also have many students who have experienced tremendous trauma in their lives. They need a high degree of differentiation and comfort in the classroom.
My first graders have two sets of rotations every day to ensure that they get individualized literacy and math support. We need computers for the students to use two educational programs, Lexia and ST-Math. Access to laptops to every day will allow my students to use these highly beneficial programs to help them grow. These laptops would mean the world to my students. I'm also requesting durable headphones so students can listen to the specialized instruction without distracting other classmates. I typically have 4-5 students working on laptops while I work with 4-5 other students on building decoding skills or math concept development and another group works at a special station.
