My Project
My classroom is diverse, with some students speaking their parents' primary language at home, while learning English at school and in their social lives outside of school. My school culture is changing as we continue to expand our Special Education programs. Our school receives inadequate funding for technology. We are way behind in the technology front.
My students need laptops to have access to technology and guidance in learning how to properly research primary and secondary sources in history.
Many of our students lack technology access in their homes and, therefore, they lack basic technology skills and proficiency.
As an 8th Grade History and Special Education teacher, my students will utilize these laptops to help build the necessary technology skills of the 21st century. The Bluetooth Speaker will enable all students to hear computer videos and resources. The use of technology in the classroom in middle school will help my students build a technological foundation to become college and career ready as they move forward in their young lives.
With the addition of these laptops to my classroom, my students will have access to research primary and secondary source materials for history as well as use them for other subjects during extra help in the morning before school.
