Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our computer lab needs your help. We are in need of a Dell Laptop. We use the laptop to present instructional content to our students during their technology/computer science classes. We ask you to become an ambassador and help our school by providing our students with newer equipment. In approximately one month we will be celebrating Computer Science Week, and all of our students will complete one hour of code. All of our students are excited, and many topics they love to learn include the Binary Number System, Learning HTLM to create web pages, and Using Google Sketchup to model houses, bridges, and museums. We create interactive video games on Scratch, write computer programs with various programming languages, including Java, Perl, and Alice, and use Microsoft Office 2024 products, including Access and Excel, to create databases, spreadsheets, and other applications that expose them to real-life applications. Our hard work and commitment are making a big difference in exposing our children to the computer science field, and as a result, many of our students continue to take computer science courses in high school, and some of them are choosing computer science as their college major.
