Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My second grade students come from low-income families. They are sweet, energetic, and eager to learn! These students come from a diverse background. Some of them are bilingual with English as a second language.
They love to learn and get excited about coming to school.
Many of my students don't have a laptop or computer at home. The only opportunity many of my students get to access their computer programs is in the classroom. I think it is important to establish the foundation of computer skills early on in their education.
My Project
This laptop will provide a resource for my students to work on their iReady, Accelerated Reading quizzes and MathFacts practice. They will also be learning how to use various programs that will help them to get excited about learning. It is essential that we provide our students with the learning and tools they need.
We have found that in order for our students to be successful in online testing that they need to practice these programs with up to date technology.
By having a laptop I can teach my students the skills that they will need to be successful adults.
