My Students

The school is a performing arts school in the heart of Manhattan!

Students are artistically and musically talented, with wonderful and unique personalities.

We contain a diverse population at our school, made up of all types of ethnicities, cultures, and learners. When asking my students how they learn best, I always get a variety of responses. Here are some I have received this year:

"I learn best by note-taking and visuals, because it allows me to better put the information in my memory."

"I learn best while doing interactive group work."

"I enjoy watching informative videos or documentaries and lessons that interact with the class."

I have made it my goal as a teacher to reach all types of learners by providing a multitude of teaching techniques including organized notes with visuals, discussions, debates, group work, videos, hands on experiments and projects. My students' curiosity, eagerness and passion is what drives me to be the best teacher I can be!

My Project

“We will explore the mysteries of science and harness the power of technology and innovation. We will realise the opportunities of the digital world. Our youth will learn more from - and with - each other.”

With this laptop, I will be able to provide opportunities and activities which can be completed by students of all different skill levels and learning styles.

In addition, this laptop device will be utilized as an interactive tool (smart-board feature) in all classrooms and laboratory. This laptop will allow me to create informational, organized, interactive, and visually appealing keynote presentations, which is the core to my teaching. I will also be able to engage my students with multi-media experiences. I love showing videos and providing graphics that help excite students about a topic. In addition, with this laptop, I plan to apply the New Visions Living Environment curriculum https://curriculum.newvisions.org/science/course/living-environment/ to my daily practice. This curriculum is all about engagement and exploration through visuals, graphic organizers, videos, and efficient group work activities. Having this opportunity will engage my students both mentally and physically. I know that with this laptop, I will be able to reach my students in an entirely different way instead of just projecting the material by the use of the a white/chalkboard.
