Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 58 fourth graders who come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. They are faced with many challenges that make them unique.
My students are eager to learn each and every day to gain new knowledge.
They want to make a difference one day as they know they are our future. They know and understand that being in school each and every day is vital. Education is the key to success and I want to make sure that I give them the tools they need to be successful.
My Project
This summer I'm excited about learning how to incorporate Apps in the classroom. Integrating Technology into the Curriculum 2nd Edition (Effective Teaching in Today's Classroom) is what I will be reading so that I can learn how to use technology effectively in the classroom. As of now I only use my Enfocus machine as technology and a few websites. I really need to brush up on my skills with technology. While I read my book and can research on my computer.
Creating my own Professional Development Plan this summer is so exciting because I feel like I'm really going to make a strong impact with everything I will learn.
I want to become better for my scholars. That's why I want the MacBook Pro so that I can learn how to use Apps on my laptop and project it in class. I can also use it to learn how to create my own books using apps. This computer will help me plan and research many lessons. Plus I can also use it when I present to my school.
Not only my students will benefit from what I learn but also my colleagues at school. Throughout the school year, I present Professional Development sessions. I can really use a printer to help me print out my session materials and I can also use it for printing out resources that I use to learn and teach.
My second book is The book DIY Literacy: Teaching Tools for Differentiation, Rigor, and Independence. I feel like understanding how to differentiate lessons and make them rigorous at all levels will help me get one step closer to perfecting my craft. My printer will help me print out materials that create after reading this book so that I can practice on my lessons.
