This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our 9th-grade biology classroom in Providence, RI, students spend 90 minutes each day doing labs, group work, and hands-on investigations. Our current lab stools don’t have backs, and many students regularly share that they’re uncomfortable and make it hard to stay focused during longer activities.

I’m requesting lab stools with back support so students can work comfortably and maintain attention throughout the full class period.

This will ensure that students have functional seating that supports their posture while they complete labs, write, and collaborate.

These stools will be used daily by every 9th grader who comes through our science room and will continue to support future classes for years to come.

What this will provide is sturdy lab stools with back support, improved comfort and focus during 90-minute classes, and a more functional learning environment for all students.
