My students just had an author visit from a Pakistani American. They learned that Urdu is a common language spoken in Pakistan. They are now very curious about all things Pakistan. This collection includes bilingual books written in English and Urdu. These books feature Urdu culture and will explore Folktales unique to that region. We also have students that speak Urdu and will benefit by reading books in English and Urdu with their friends and family.
My students love learning about other languages and cultures.
We also have students that speak Kurdish. They also will want to share books in their native language with family.
These bilingual books will allow our students to grow in literacy skills in their native language and English. All benefit as they can see other languages celebrated and validated.
