My Project

Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent work times they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. My students are currently using clipboards and lap desks to work in a variety of locations in our room such as: at a stand-up or high stool table or sitting and laying on the floor with a clip board. I have noticed a big difference in my students when they are given choices.

My class is more engaged and able to complete more independent work when they are able to choose the working style that works best for them.

The products that I have selected will give my students additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. The low table is a perfect workplace for the kids to bring their floor seats up to and have something solid to work on rather than just a clipboard. These will be extremely beneficial for some students that just need to get out of their chairs. The construction paper will add more variety to our makers table with the colored pencil sharpener giving the kids the sharp more precise coloring pencils they always want.

I have seen how flexible seating choices positively affect my students and their work and hope that the new additions to our class will help them grow even more.
