Komfy in Kinder

Help me give my students more flexible seating options since the yoga balls have become such a hit! I would love to have a table full of them for students to choose from!

My Students

At our school, we are the biggest school in the county. We are also a Title I school with students receiving free breakfast and lunches daily. At our school we are teaching the students "The Leader in Me" and "The 7 Habits" in hopes for our students to develop leadership qualities that they will be able to carry throughout their life.

My Kindergarten class is filled with 18 five and six year olds with their own unique personalities!

We love to sing, dance, and make learning fun. We also enjoy the thirty minutes of gross motor that we are allotted daily, but the playground does not always cut it. This year we have hopes to have a classroom full of flexible seating. We have a couple scoop rockers, wobble stools, pillows, yoga balls, stools and crate seats! I love that the kids are able to find the seat that best fits their needs for learning, but also are on a shortage. We hope to have a flexible seating option for all of our students this year!

My Project

With flexible seating, students are able to choose which type of seat works best for them! Some learn and work better standing, sitting, laying, rocking, wobbling or even bouncing. With today's generation students are always on the move and unable to stay still very long!

In a room full of five and six year-olds, their attention span does not last very long!

We take multiple brain breaks, but also have the flex seating options, Sit 'n' Gyms, Lap Desks, and Stability Balls, so that they are able to be active/ move while they are doing their work instead of just sitting still! Help us get Komfy in Kinder with more flexible seating!
