My Students

My classroom is made up of wonderfully unique children who come from low income and at risk families. All of the children have one content area that they really gravitate towards. I want to enhance their love and desire to learn more about these areas. Each child has a different background and family life. I hope to teach them about different cultures and acceptance.

At this age children learn through everything they do even through (what adults would consider) failure they learn.

Thomas Edison said "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." Children learn most through play even though they are unaware they are learning.

My Project

By providing my students with these items my students will be able to see toys that truly like them with the family set. With the people colored crayons they will finally be able to draw a picture that actually looks like them. We are looking to enhance our science area through sensory exploration while incorporating literacy or science with the Floating Letters, Building water blocks, and Dino-dig. Since we received the build your car from our other project both the boys and the girls have thoroughly enjoyed deconstructing and build the cars. I want to continue to foster this feeling will the Drill kit and hammer set. With these tools the children will enhance their hand eye coordination, learn SAFETY when using tools, and skills that will be helpful when they get older.
