Help me give my students the materials they need to learn how to knit.

My Project

Students enrolled in my life skills class get hands on experience learning a variety of real life skills and I would love to add knitting to this list of skills. Students would be taught how to use round looms to knit hats for themselves as well as donations to local shelters and hospitals. This skill can also be used to increase focus in the classroom.

Students would be taught this skill while in my life skills class and would also have the opportunity to check them out for use during other hours of the school day.

Knitting has been shown to reduce stress and increase focus and concentration. Not only will students learn a new skill, but they will also gain a sense of accomplishment after completing a project and experience the joy of giving to others when their items are donated.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
