Kindness Week

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year has definitely looked a lot different, but my students have risen to the challenges that come with distance learning and returning to in-person instruction. They are critical thinkers who love to discuss texts, themes, and worldly topics.

They get excited about learning and are constantly trying to improve their skills.

They are the type of students who thank me after a thought-provoking lesson.

They are respectful, young members of society who are going to change the world someday. They love to learn, and that is what is going to take them far in life.

They don't give excuses; they give effort.

My Project

The last two years have been rough on everyone, especially students. The materials from this project will be used by our school's leadership class to organize and facilitate a week of kindness.

Our school's Kindness Week is meant to create a sort of chain reaction where students are encouraged to be kind to one another and support one another, which will, in turn, motivate students to be kind to themselves, their peers, and the entire school.

This project will be used as a PBIS resource. We want to reward positive behavior while also intervening and supporting those students who might need some redirecting.

In a world where kindness is lacking, we are hoping to spread kindness and remind students that "In a world where they can be anything, be kind." When students feel supported, they will have a more positive attitude towards school, which will positively impact their learning.
