Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Although It might sound a little cheesy, I am trying to "Throw Kindness like Confetti" through promoting positivity and engaging in random acts of kindness!
I am hoping to stock my classroom full of self help workbooks for increased wellbeing in addition to kindness cards that I can write to students and surprise them with to practice gratitude, acknowledge their strengths, progress, and accomplishments, and bring a smile to their face!
An increase in these resources would impact my students tremendously. The workbooks will help students who are struggling with mental health issues to "heal their inner child", improve their attachment style, and learn strategies for emotion regulation. The notepads will help kids create organized plans for productivity and stress relief. And last but certainly not least...I will use the cards (which have positive quotes on them) to write kind notes to students to cheer them up and brighten their day. All kids deserve to know that they matter, are strong and special, and deserve to be celebrated and have hope for the future! A little note saying "You got this" could be life changing. You never know what act of kindness is saving someone's life.
