Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My Project Nothing brightens a neighbor's day like an unexpected gesture of appreciation. Through our student-led "Kindness Counts" initiative, my students are taking on the role of community changemakers. They aren't just participating; they are organizing and executing a service project designed to boost morale across our entire school community and the surrounding neighborhood.

The students will be responsible for managing a mobile Kindness Cart.

Each week, the student crew will work together to identify a specific group within our community to honor. This could include our hardworking students, local first responders, or shelters in our neighborhood.

The students will manage the inventory of snacks and gifts, coordinate the delivery schedules, and lead the outreach interactions.

While this project helps students practice vital social communication, its primary purpose is a student-driven effort to serve others. By taking the lead, my students will see firsthand how their initiative can transform the culture of our broader school community and foster a spirit of giving that extends well beyond our classroom doors.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
