My Students

I teach a diverse group of learners at a public IBPYP school. We have been a School of Excellence for 13 years. 42% of our student population are economically disadvantaged, and 27% speak English as a second language. I work to provide a hands-on, project based education and encourage community outreach through action.

My students enjoy having the chance to wonder and explore.

They enjoy becoming actively involved in their learning, with the goal of becoming well-rounded students who are prepared to apply what they learn in real-world, complex and unpredictable situations.

My Project

By giving my students access to Kindles in the classroom, they will be able to explore a variety of powerful tools, such as drawing, voice recording and taking videos, using free apps like SeeSaw, in addition to reading books or playing education games.

Using a Kindle to show what they know in a way that works best for them will help me understand strengths and areas for growth in real time so that I can differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all of my students.

Kindles will also help connect families to see student work and celebrate progress. I can't wait to see the smiles when they become adept at using the Kindles in a variety of ways!
