Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are eager to learn and willing to try, but they have the odds stacked against them to succeed. Your generous support can help my students be successful.
I am a fourth-grade teacher in a low-income urban area in New Jersey and more than 90% of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch.
My students cannot afford to purchase the necessary supplies for the classroom. I have general education students, special education students, as well as students learning the English Language in my classroom.
Our school is in an urban area. Many of my students are reading at 2-3 grade levels below 4th grade. Despite these challenges, the climate of our school is nurturing and sets high expectations for all students.
My Project
The Kindle Fire 7 provides many educational apps and games that will enhance the learning in my classroom through the use of technology. Using the Kindle Fire tablets during centers will help my students with access to differentiated instruction across the curriculum areas: Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies and Writiing.
School may be the only place that provides my students with access to the world with the most updated technology.
Receiving a Kindle Fire 7 will allow my students access to the world around them while playing educational games, reading books, and researching areas that interest them.
Please help my students get the technology they need to succeed.
