Kindergartners love art!
The cost of these Art Supplies is $148, including shipping and <a target="new" href="http://www.donorschoose.org/html/fulfillment.htm" onclick="g_openWindow('http://www.donorschoose.org/html/fulfillment.htm', 300, 800, 'fulfillwindow');return false;">fulfillment</a>.
I am a kindergarten teacher in Charlotte, North Carolina. Our school has 700 students, with 73% percent receiving free and reduced-price lunches.
Budget cuts have made it very hard to get art supplies in our school. This is a particular problem in kindergarten because so many of my academic units incorporate art projects. Without Donors Choose I would be unable to buy construction paper, paint and glue.
The students are so excited in kindergarten to do different kinds of art projects--to make frogs and rainbow fish when we are studying underwater life, to create puppets to represent community helpers when we are studying being kind to one another, or just to make play dough alphabet letters to form words. Moreover, art is very beneficial for my non-English-speaking students: they are able to express themselves without needing words. Making art also helps students who have low motor skills.
I appreciate your considering helping me to obtain these art materials. It will be exciting to once again have the materials needed to do our art projects.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
