My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. I want my students to be able to achieve outstanding results and overcome any obstacles they may face.

The enthusiasm for learning and creative thinking I hear and see everyday in my classroom is what makes my job a joy.

I want to be able to foster that zest for learning and have my students shine their brightest.

My Project

We need a document camera for our classroom so that students can connect the pictures and words of their favorite stories. I teach in a Title I school and we have a limited number of books in our classroom. Despite the disadvantages, my students always come to school eager and ready to learn!

I would love for them to have a document camera for our classroom so that everyone, including one of our students who is vision impaired, can see the pictures and the words in our books.

The IPEVO document camera will maximize our storybooks onto our projector so that students can better see the illustrations. This will not only help hold their attention, but it will also help them connect the pictures in a story to the words. We are working on building familiar relationships with storybooks and having the ability to zoom in on the words will help so much!

The IPEVO document camera would also help me teach various concepts including: math lessons with manipulatives, letter and sound lessons, arts and craft demonstrations, writing lessons, and so much more!! I hope you consider donating to us!

We also have an Apple tv listed which would open up other possibilities for learning. This would allow us to use online resources for literacy and math through our projection system. My school is developing a one-to-one program and having access to an Apple tv would help my students connect our devices so that we can truly become a learning community.
