My Students

Our students come very diverse backgrounds. Blue collar, white collar...farmers and CEO's. Our community hosts a wide range of experiences and incomes. Located in a township without a post office, our school struggles to make ends meet at times. We aren't Title One, but could be. We have a very strong community presence in our school, which helps, but constant budget cuts means less money.

Even with these obstacles, our community is eager to see their children achieve a higher level of academic success than previous generations.

In today's world, being literate in technology is an essential skill. We hope to prepare and enrich our students for such a tech-based world.

My Project

The requested Wonder Workshop Dash & Dot Robot Wonder Pack and Lenovo tablet will be used in small teams to help students solve problems, learn to work together, and accept each other's point of view. This will help develop tolerance and acceptance through collaboration. My students will learn that they may come from different backgrounds and have different life experiences. This will allow them to look at different ways to solve problems.

Students will learn robotics through 21st-century skills and the role they play by creating with Dash & Dot.

Dash & Dot will help my students learn the basics of coding and robotics. Through small groups, such as centers, Dot and Dash will be used to give students hands-on experiences in coding.

Kindergarteners can code too!
