Kindergarten Wants to Code Robots!

My students need Dash and Dot Robots, along with an iPad to manipulate the robots through the Wonder app. The Dash and Dot Robots with the Wonder Workshop Wonderpack is specifically designed to teach coding!

My Students

Welcome to our Coding Club! We are Kindergarten students who are just beginning to dive into the computer science world. Computer science is a top paying college degree, and computer programming jobs are growing at 2 times the national average. We are teaching our youngest students how to code!

Our district is a Title 1 school, which means that more than 40% of our population is below the poverty level.

Many of our students have free breakfast and lunch. A large majority of the students are ENL (English as a New Language) learners.

We have just added a Kindergarten session to our after school club provides these students the opportunity to work with technology, which our students would otherwise never have the chance to use. Now, we just need the materials to provide our kids with these opportunities. Can you help support our future computer scientists?

My Project

Computer science is the future. Our after school Coding Club Kindergartners are the designers of the future! Our students would love to get their hands on an iPad and robots to begin their journey into programming, designing and creating in the world of robotics.

We are yearning to get our minds thinking abstractly with the hands on Dash and Dot robots to get started coding and creating.

The Wonder Workshop activity pack will allow us to program the robots to complete many different kinds of STEAM challenges. These activities and challenges will transfer into all kinds of real world scenarios, in which students will need to collaborate, communicate, and create solutions with one another.

In our school, these students likely will never have the opportunity to get their hands on an Iad or a robot, and I would love to provide this hands on, coding opportunity for them.

We would be so grateful if you could help us!
