Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach Kindergarten to 25 of the sweetest, most loving, caring, and smartest 5 year old kids. They love coming to school to learn, and to be part of something special. I strive each day to make each day the best ever.
Our school is 99% Latino and our entire school qualifies for free lunch.
Many students live in multi-generational homes and their parents work 2 to 3 jobs just to make ends meet. I do my best to make my classroom a positive and nurturing environment for them every day. However, due to budget cutbacks, it is sometimes difficult to get the materials we need to establish success.
My Project
My class has been given the approval to be center based and because of this we need some materials that will help us stay on track and focused! Each table in my classroom has a color theme and these book and paper bins will be used to keep them organized and clutter free! We will use the book bins to organize our materials to help us with our math rotations. The paper bins will help us keep track of our various journals that we are working on.
In Kindergarten it's important to teach them young how to stay organized.
It can get very chaotic with 25 students and no aide and that is why we are requesting these materials to help us stay on task. The giant timer will teach us to manage our time, the book bins will highlight the books that we are studying for the week, the bins will keep us prepared and ready to learn.
