The life-size Old Lady prop immediately captures students' attention and motivates them to participate in lessons. Students are excited to take turns feeding items to the Old Lady, retelling events from the story, answering questions, and practicing vocabulary in a meaningful and memorable way. What has been the most exciting is seeing students who are typically hesitant to participate become eager to join the activity and communicate with their peers. \r\n\r\nThe physical books have also made a tremendous difference. Previously, we often relied on online read-aloud, which could be distracting for some students. Having the books in hand allows students to focus on the story, interact with the pictures, turn pages, and stay engaged throughout the lesson. The combination of the books and the interactive prop has transformed story time into a hands-on, student-centered learning experience that supports language learning experience that supports language development, literacy, and social interaction.\r\n\r\nThese materials have been especially valuable for my students with diverse communication needs. Whether using spoken language, gestures, or AAC devices, students can actively participate in our language activities.
