My students are all very enthusiastic learners who love to listen to stories. They are captivated during our story time. Unfortunately, most of my students come from a low socioeconomic background. Along with that, more than half come from a single parent family. My students are considered English Language learners levels 1 and 2. Consequently, they have difficulties with their listening and speaking skills. Some of my students have learning disabilities. My students have limited vocabularies to express themselves. My students require many opportunities through out the day to listen to stories.
