My Project

The materials and supplies that I am requesting were lost when the Palisades Fire consumed my class last year. I am in need of small plastic animals, trees, and cotton balls. These materials will be used throughout our science unit, "Earth and Human Activity."

This STEM project makes abstract science concepts more concrete by getting students hands on while building a small forest ecosystem.

We are in need of cotton balls and small plastic animals and trees to build a forest ecosystem.

My kindergarten students will enjoy building the forest and seeing the little animals. This hands on action will help engage students in the subject in a more meaningful manner than solely looking at books and worksheets.

Students will learn about what animals need to survive and how they are all interconnected with their habitat. We will discuss food webs, hibernation, and loss of habitat.

After building the forest, students will plan and build a road through the forest that ensures the safety of the animals and cars.
