Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are an amazing group of learners from disadvantaged backgrounds; 100% of our students receive free lunch and a third of the students speak a language other than English at home. The students have limited experiences outside the classroom walls. They have limited exposure to current academic materials and often utilize used and donated supplies. They have limited access to cultural and extra-curricular activities as well. The children are eager learners just waiting for the right tools to help them succeed. Please help a great group of children soar high to reach their full potential!
My Project
Please help me build a classroom library for my Kindergarten Emergent Readers! My students love new books and love when someone reads to them. With this collection of new books, my students will be exposed to quality literature that will help them build not only their essential reading skills but also their creativity, imagination, humor, and excitement for reading!
My students are in need of books that spark imagination and fun like Elephant and Piggie, We're Going on a Bear Hunt, and Tiny T-Rex along with so many more!
Read-aloud stories help me model proper reading techniques, the inflection in voice, concepts of print, volume and speed, learning through pictures, character voice and development and so much more!
Please help me to bring the joy of reading to my little emergent readers. Bringing a love of reading and joy of literature would make this teacher's heart soar! Thank you for helping my students and for caring for our classroom!
