My Students

When I started teaching I knew centers were an important part of an early childhood classroom.

Centers allow students time to engage in developmentally appropriate practice activities that are well thought-out and planned by the teacher.

They are either structured or non-structured activities that allow students to learn through their preferred learning modality (differentiated by the teacher for each student). Students have the opportunity to practice skills that are being taught in the classroom.  They get to observe, listen, questions, self-reflect and discover. All skills are developed: (fine motor, gross motor, cognitive, oral language, sensory-motor, social and higher order thinking, social and emotional intelligence etc).

My Project

In order to have a successful learning time, we will need classroom materials and organization materials so centers can be productive and run smoothly.

Currently, my students don’t have an easel that can be used not only for read alouds, lesson but also for the class to use as a learning station.

Also my students will benefit from an organized classroom where they can locate and/or store materials easily. Organizing will help students locate different type of paper for writing, reading response, arts, crafts and projects . Folders are great use to save their work in one place and go back when needed. It will great to have folders that can last longer !! Hand white boards are fun and great to use to learn and practice many skills.
