Kindergarten Indoor Recess Activities for Weary Weather Days

Help me give my students indoor recess entertainment so my Kindergarten Super Sloths have engaging and educational options when the weather keeps us inside.

My Project

I am so lucky that my class of 18 Kindergarten Super Sloths come to school each day ready for anything. They work so hard during academic times and play so hard during outdoor recess.

I am requesting indoor recess activities.

With the weather changing, I am trying to be prepared to have actively engaging activities for them to use when we are required to stay inside. This is where I could use your help.

I would love to add a mixture of indoor gross motor games and a few engaging tabletop games to our classroom, in order to give students a chance to burn off their energy or take a mindful break between academic lessons.

I can already envision groups of friends playing a tick-tack-toe beanbag game, children creating images on Light Brights, others trying to get the rings on the hooks in the water toys, and teams of students popping educational math Pop-It boards during those rainy or snowy days. These games would be used this year and in many years to come.
