My Students
Our students are very active and hard working from the moment they walk into the classrooms until it is time to go home. Their enthusiasm for learning is apparent when walking down the halls. Our students come from various backgrounds, mostly low income. Teaching children from across the globe who speak little to no English is a challenge, but the one thing we all have in common is that we're excited about learning.
We have 150 beautiful children in Kindergarten who come from different parts of Central and South America.
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, our students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Many of our students lack essential food supplies at home that can keep them focused in school.
My Project
A majority of our student population come from low income families.
I have been informed that our school has families that could benefit by food being sent home.
Some students do not have an ample food supply and depend on school breakfast and lunches to supply their nutritional needs. During breaks from school, many go without three meals or the minimum two meals a day.
It is our goal to put together Blessing Bags which contain food, snacks, and hygiene products for them.
Our students are proud yet grateful for the assistance that our staff tries to provide. However, your generous donation will permit us the chance to help our entire Kindergarten class by sending home Blessing Bags during the long summer break. We're asking for toothbrushes and toothpaste, mac and cheese, and easy to prepare hot foods.
